Prabhat brings over 20 years of global management experience by working at Liberty Global, Lucent Technologies (and AT&T Bell Labs), COLT Telecom and Devonshire Telecom & Technology Services (at Fidelity). Prabhat has grown telecom businesses worth over $250 million in wireline, wireless, data networking, operations and business support systems, Internet Protocol (IP) telephony and broadband services in 25 countries. He has held responsibilities in business development, product management, sales, P&L, and financial analysis in cable multi-service operators, telcos and information technology industries in the U.S.A., Europe and Asia.
Prabhat has grown businesses that includes fixed line and wireless, network services and next-beneration networks, and that capitalized on virtualization, mobility, data centers, Web 2.0 and Software as a Service. Specifically, he has:
- Incubated the IP Business Services unit at Liberty Global (UPC-Chello Broadband) in Europe that provided Internet, voice over IP (VoIP) and e-commerce solutions to enterprise and retail customers over HFC network using an ecosystem of partners;
- Restructured the cost and pricing model to reflect the competitive environment and increased sales by 33% in one year at Lucent’s VoIP products and solutions;
- Led initiatives to win $10-100 million business deals with service providers and enterprises;
- Developed the business cases and financial analyses for multi-million dollar joint ventures in China, Taiwan, India and Brazil at AT&T and Lucent Technologies;
- Instituted process changes across switching business unit and achieved over 20% increase in sales and profitability at AT&T in the U.S.A., Europe and Asia;
- Managed $100M budget for CTO and mentored several key staff members for UPC, a $1.5 billion broadband and media service provider;
- Developed IMS-FMC led VoIP product strategy and a $550 million business case for COLT Telecom, a $3 billion telecom service provider in the U.K.;
- Designed the core business transformational plan and ecosystem for fixed line customers to an advanced IP network-based applications platform; and
- Created the operations support systems architecture of customer-controlled voice and data services for AT&T's growth in the 1990s.
